The short version
Cold Creek Roleplay is a roleplay community for Arma Reforger. Nothing here costs money, there are no ads, and we never sell your data.
- We know your Discord account (ID, name and avatar) and your Bohemia account, because every player links the two (Rule 02). We never get your email address or your password.
- The game server records what your character does: money, vehicles, property, licenses, police records, where you are, your phone texts and calls, and events like shots fired and arrests. That's how the world carries on between sessions, and how staff look into reports.
- Server logs hold your IP address. We keep our copies for 14 days.
- Staff can see more than players can, because enforcing the rules needs it. Other players see what your character shows them in game.
- Want it gone? Open a ticket in our Discord and staff will delete your character and its records. Your choices covers what stays.
What this covers
Cold Creek is a few pieces that share one record, and this page covers all of them.
- This website, coldcreekrp.com, including CreekLink: your character file, the police and fire dashboards, the court and the staff tools.
- The Cold Creek game server on Arma Reforger.
- The Cold Creek Discord server and our bot that runs in it.
It doesn't cover what Discord, Bohemia Interactive or anyone else does with your data on their own services. They have their own policies, linked under Other services.
What we collect
Grouped by where it comes from.
- Signing in to CreekLink
- Sign-in goes through Discord, and we ask Discord for one permission only, the one called identify. That gives us your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar. We don't get your email address or the list of servers you're in, and we never see your Discord password. Discord gives us a temporary key to read those details; we use it once and throw it away. Every player links their Discord account to their game account in game, the first time they join (Rule 02), so we know your Discord ID and name whether or not you ever use CreekLink. The website can read that link but it can't create one.
- Playing on the server
- Your Bohemia account ID and account name, your platform and gamertag, and your character: its name, date of birth and look, money and bank history, job and rank, vehicles, property, inventory including weapon serial numbers, licenses, medical state, and police records such as citations, warrants and arrests. Your phone's messages, notes and Chirp posts are saved with your character on the game server so they're still there next time.
- Where you are
- While you're online, the server saves your position every 15 seconds, along with whether you're in a vehicle and how fast you're going. Staff use it to look into reports, for example to see who was near a shooting.
- What happens in game
- The server keeps a log of events: joining and leaving, kills, hits, shots fired, downs and revives, 911 calls and where they were made, money moving, purchases, robberies, arrests, going on and off duty, and staff actions. Phone texts and group chats are logged with who sent them, who to and what they said, and phone calls with who called whom and for how long. A kill also saves the last 10 minutes of movement for the victim and the killer, and leaving mid-fight saves yours.
- Game server logs
- The game server writes its own technical logs, and we copy them to our server so staff can look into crashes and problems. When you connect, those logs record your IP address and your BattlEye ID.
- Our Discord
- When you join or leave our Discord, the bot posts your name, ID, avatar and account age in a staff channel, plus the roles you held if you're leaving. When a message is deleted, the bot copies its author, channel, text and attachment names to a staff-only log, and so do moderation actions such as kicks, bans and timeouts. Once your character is linked, the bot sets your Discord nickname to your character's name, with your rank in front if you're in the police.
- Things you send us
- Department applications, support tickets, bug reports, court filings, witness statements and the feedback survey. You decide what goes in them, so keep to what the form asks for. A support ticket also saves where you were in game, your last 10 minutes of movement and the names of players within 100 meters, so staff can see what happened. The feedback survey doesn't store who you are; it keeps a scrambled code made from your Discord ID only so nobody can answer twice.
- Visiting the website
- Like most web servers, ours logs each request: your IP address, the page, the time and the browser you used. There are no analytics, trackers or ads on the site.
We don't ask for your real name, email address, home address or payment details, and we don't record voice, whether it's in game or on Discord. Your character's date of birth belongs to your character, not to you.
How we use it
- To run the game, so your character, money and property are there when you come back.
- To show you your own file on CreekLink.
- To run the departments and the court: rosters, applications, records and cases.
- To enforce the rules: look into reports, work out what happened, handle appeals and keep banned players out.
- To fix bugs and keep the servers running.
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone beyond the people and services named on this page.
Who can see it
- Anyone
- Nothing about you. The public pages (rules, laws, CreekiPedia, the road map and the changelog) carry no player names. The one exception is a bug report, from Discord or the in-game phone, which opens a public thread in our Discord under your Discord name.
- Other players
- What your character shows them in game: your character's name, what you wear and drive, and your Chirp posts. Your Discord nickname shows your character's name.
- You
- Your own file on CreekLink: money, stats, vehicles, property, citations and warrants, your own applications and tickets, and any court case you're part of. It doesn't name the officer who wrote you a citation.
- Police and fire
- Members see their department's roster and records. Police can look up anyone's records and see incidents, statements and court cases. Department command also reads applications to that department.
- The court
- Court roles see every case, including the court's private notes.
- Staff
- Admins can look up a player and see everything we hold on them: their accounts, character, records, event history, positions, tickets, staff notes and the server logs, including the phone log. Only our admins have that access.
- Developers
- The people who build and run the servers have direct access to them and can see anything stored there, which they need in order to fix problems.
Other services
- Discord
- Sign-in, our community and the bot all run on Discord, and Discord's privacy policy covers what Discord does. CreekLink shows your avatar straight from Discord, so Discord sees your IP address when the page loads it.
- Bohemia Interactive
- Arma Reforger, your Bohemia account and BattlEye anti-cheat come from Bohemia, and Bohemia's privacy policy covers them.
- Google Fonts
- The site loads its typefaces from Google, so your browser fetches them from Google's servers and Google sees your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
- Hosting
- The website and our database run on a server we rent from Akamai (Linode) in Virginia, USA. The game server is hosted by Revelation Gaming in Tennessee, USA. Your data is stored in the United States. If you play from somewhere else, it travels there.
- Our tools
- Our developers use AI coding assistants, such as Anthropic's Claude, to build and fix Cold Creek. While fixing a problem, an assistant can read the live records involved.
How long we keep it
- Website logs
- 14 days.
- Game server logs
- Our copy: 14 days. These are the ones with your IP address and BattlEye ID. The game host keeps its own copy of the original files on its own schedule.
- Positions
- 30 days. Movement saved with a kill or a support ticket stays as long as that event or ticket does.
- Game event log
- 90 days, phone texts and calls included.
- Sign-in sessions
- Until you sign out, or 30 days at most.
- Your character
- As long as your character exists. Police records are part of the game world and don't expire with time.
- Our system logs
- The service behind CreekLink notes sign-ins and saves by Discord or player ID. Those notes are overwritten once their storage fills, which at current volume takes a few months.
- The record
- Applications, support tickets, bug reports, court cases, department duty records, staff notes, bans and the staff Discord logs have no set end date. They're the record of what happened. Applications and support tickets go if you ask us to delete your data (see Your choices).
Your choices
- See it
- CreekLink shows you your own file. For anything else we hold about you, open a ticket and ask.
- Correct it
- If something we hold is wrong, open a ticket and we'll fix it.
- Delete it
- Open a ticket and ask. There's no self-serve button yet, so staff do it by hand. We delete your character and everything attached to it (money, vehicles, property, phone, licenses and police records), your CreekLink file, your applications and support tickets, and the link between your Discord and your game account. Logs age out on the schedule above. What stays: bans, staff notes and moderation history, the staff Discord logs, a note that the deletion happened, court cases that other players are part of, your department duty history, and bug reports already posted in our Discord (you can delete your own messages there). Deleting your data doesn't lift a ban.
- Sign out
- Signing out of CreekLink ends your session right away. You can also remove Cold Creek's access in Discord under User Settings, Authorized Apps.
Depending on where you live, for example the EU, the UK or California, you may have legal rights to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your data, or to object to how it's used. Ask in a ticket and we'll honor them.
Security
Our database sits on our own server and can't be reached from the internet. The site only works over HTTPS. Sessions are stored as hashes, the CreekLink cookies are out of reach of page scripts, department and staff pages check your Discord roles before showing anything, and sign-in requests are rate limited.
No system is perfectly secure. If we find out your data has been exposed, we'll tell you.
Age
Cold Creek is a mature community, full of adults (Rule 07). Every player needs a Discord account (Rule 02), so you also need to meet Discord's minimum age where you live. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account with us, open a ticket and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
When what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top.
Questions, requests and complaints about your data all go through a ticket in our Discord. The Terms of Service cover the rest of the deal.
